Catrina Reese

Catrina Holman Reese, the first of four siblings, was born to sing! Her musical talent was manifested in early childhood as she eagerly performed at family events.  As a young adulthood, she sang background with many groups, but with 'New Generation', it was her introduction to professional studio recording work. The group was honored as an opening act for one of Gospel's legends, Shirley Caesar, in Charlotte, N.C. Through the years, Catrina has had various opportunities to display her musical gift; from singing the National Anthem at the former Charlotte Hornets basketball game, the CIAA tournament in 2006, Charlotte Knights game and even at the Charlotte Checkers hockey game; to being a member of the backup choir for Dorothy Norwood. She was also a featured solo artist in the gospel explosion with Beverly Crawford and a member of the Charlotte Choral Society. Catrina was selected from over 600 singers as the grand prize winner of the '2004 GIMME THE MIKE-CHARLOTTE' talent competition sponsored by WSOC Channel 9. From that experience, she was chosen as an opening act for Yolanda Adams and Detrick Haddon at Charlotte's Ovens Auditorium. Catrina's second solo concert in 2006 in Washington DC, was sponsored by The Virginia club.

Through much prayer, Catrina produced her first solo project in 1997 titled, 'Thank You Lord'. The songs, written by her, express not only her trials and tribulations, but how she overcame them by faith and the joy of knowing the Lord.  She completed her second solo project, 'Release Your Faith', in August 2006 and is now working on her third project.

Catrina has accomplished much that she is proud of, especially musically, but considers discerning and obeying the voice of God to prepare souls for the coming of the Lord to be the greatest. Her life long dream was to become a professional solo artist, traveling and evangelizing; spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to the hurting and lost souls through song and Word. In 2006, with her music ministry well established, she realized the second part of her life long dream when she became an evangelist  She is committed to her calling and finds encouragement and comfort in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." She worships at City of Life Ministries International in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she is Minister of Music and Praise, as well as, Worship Team Leader. She is a native of Charlotte and a graduate of Kings College with a degree in accounting. This wife and mother of three also works outside her home in the corporate world.
