Deidre Campbell-Jones

Deidre Campbell-Jones' ministry of writing, teaching and speaking about the truths of God’s word began shortly after she was saved in 1985 at the age of 23. Her immediate and voracious study led her Pastor to enter her into a local Christian oratorical contest. After a series of short messages she won the competition and decided then and there that she wanted to be an evangelist. The looks of improbability and disbelief quietly led her to believe that perhaps a simple declaration was not the correct process and she quickly laid those thoughts to rest. However, now at the age of 42 Deidre finally realizes that her declaration almost 20 years ago was more of a personal prophecy than of any specific desire.

And so, instead of pursuing evangelism, Deidre created Destination Ministries and through that original organization wrote and self-published a Christian newsletter for youth and young adults, then distributed it to approximately 17 churches in the Sacramento area. During the course of that ministry she wrote and directed Christian plays and songs for children and teens; sang in the choir and participated in the juvenile detention song ministry; performed with the Praise Dancers and continued to deliver various laymen’s sermons whenever given the opportunity.

By 1992 Deidre had unobtrusively slipped her ministry into her workplace and began a weekly scripture booklet called "The Daily Word" which she distributed to all who asked. Distribution grew from 5 to 40 in the course of one year and once the Fortune 500 company management got word of it, she moved the ministry to email and continued for another year. During that year Deidre also created and led a Christian and African Rites of Passage program for seven 12 year old girls who were daughters of her co-workers. The program has grown and is now available to both African American boys and girls.

Between 1995 and the year 2000 Deidre served as the assistant Youth Director for her local church and taught the Wednesday night Senior High group. This ministry served as a weekly outlet for Deidre's creativity and was where she was first able to combine and concentrate her skills in music and drama with her writing and teaching abilities. During those years she completed manuscripts for a 10 story picture book series based upon the Ten Commandments for children under 5, a Christian early reader for 5-8 year olds and two Christian novels for urban and minority teens.

After moving to Van Nuys, California in 2000, Deidre renewed her email ministry with a 30 day continuous and in-depth, interactive study of the Virtuous Woman. Due to its effectiveness and popularity she is developing it into a book. By 2003 Deidre had decided to resurrect her ministry on a larger scale. Thus, Destination Christian Services, Inc. was incorporated to reach minority teens, young adults and women with Christian edification, education, empowerment and even employment whenever possible. More information on Destination Christian Services, Inc., as well as, Deidre's business bio can be found at: www.destinationchristianservices.net

Destination Publications is a DCS, Inc. auxiliary company and through it, Deidre has published several study booklets, inspirational calendars, journals and gifts. It has been that creative impetus that has finally led Deidre to spread her God-given messages of life purpose, life-worth, change, discipleship, growth and day-to-day practical Christian life skills in spoken form to women and teens of all walks of life throughout this country and beyond as the Lord so wills.

Deidre has developed several workshop-based messages that are available for local bible study classes, workshops, seminars, luncheons, meetings, retreats, revivals and key note events. These messages are geared toward the benefit of any woman, teen or young adult who is searching for direction, purpose and hope for everyday challenges, but each topic has also been tailored to the specific challenges of minorities and African Americans as well. New messages can be created specific to any event theme as well. Booklets can be purchased at:www.dpbooksandgifts.com

It is Deidre's fervent desire that as she has been led, so shall you be too. And together we would, one voice at a time, "go out into all the world preaching, teaching and making disciples in the name of the Father, the Son and of the Holy Ghost," for God has not given the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7. Amen, Amen and Amen!
