Kristi Douglas
Kristi Douglas has been preparing for ministry since 1991. While serving in campus ministry as a student at Temple University in Philadelphia, Kristi helped organize a dormitory evangelism outreach ministry. She also developed, coordinated, and taught bible studies to students in her dorm room.
After receiving her degree, the Lord enlarged her vision, directing her to use her gifts of administration and teaching and her talents of event planning to establish a ministry called Seasons Events. Based on Ecclesiastes 3:1 ("To every thing there is a season") and Matthew 5:13 ("You are the salt of the earth"), Seasons Events produces events designed to encourage and uplift women of faith. Seasons Events produces an annual women's conference, "Seasons of Womanhood," which the ministry hopes to take national within the next 3-5 years. The conferences feature nationally renowned Christian speakers and entertainers. Seasons Events also coordinates smaller events for local Christian women.
Kristi’s earliest childhood memories are of God’s faithfulness to her blind mother, a single parent of two. She gave her heart to Christ at the age of six while at the home of a neighbor. Through the counsel and example of her godly mother and her pastor, she learned to trust and obey God’s Word.
Now, she intends to fulfill the call and mission of God in her life – to teach the word of God to women and singles. What makes her such an authority? "There is one thing I think I’ve done better than anyone else I know," Kristi muses. "And that’s failing in my Christian walk. I was an expert at falling into pits." Kristi believes that by sharing her experiences she can reach believers who are struggling in areas where she’s failed. "I only speak about what I’ve lived. And I am convinced that folks will listen and believe when I talk about the horrors that result from disobedience to God," she says.
Kristi’s personal scripture is found in Isaiah 61, especially verses 3-4 of the same chapter. "To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations."
Believing the call on her life is to help establish women and singles in God's Word, Kristi says, "I know firsthand the truth of Isaiah 61:3. And I am reminded daily of God’s mercy and grace toward me in spite of my sin. He has restored to me what I allowed the enemy to destroy. And I want to share that hope with other women of God." Continuously learning to live in victory through applying God's Word, Kristi goes equipped to share that insight to set captives free and to exchange ashes for beauty. Her teachings use every day examples to open up the truth of the scriptures.
Kristi’s messages tackle such issues as successful singleness, encouragement to godliness, emotions, and relationships. Her teaching focuses on prayer, the character of God, fellowship through the Holy Spirit, and the Person of Jesus Christ. Kristi fervently believes the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God, a belief strongly reflected in her writing. Kristi has taught on Christian dating, women’s issues and related subjects. She has authored several bible studies to help the body of Christ.
Kristi studied Radio, TV and Film at Temple University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in communications, graduating with academic honors from Trinity College in Washington, DC. She has worked professionally in broadcast and cable television, as well as in the newspaper industry. She is an experienced event planner having planned meetings, receptions, family reunions weddings and even college commencement exercises. A budding music composer and songwriter, Kristi enjoys writing, studying God’s word, spending time with her family and shopping.
Kristi and her husband, Malcolm, have been married since 1999. They live near Charlotte, NC with their three beautiful children, Remington, Dakota & Tennyson.
