Pat Schulz' formative years were divided between Lenoir, North Carolina and her birthplace Brooklyn, New York. Pat attended Harper Elementary School in 1968-1969, afterwards returning to NYC. Upon the premature death of her mother in 1972 she returned to Lenoir to complete her education throughout her adolescent years. Pat was a National Honor Society student at Lenoir High School and graduated in the upper percentile of the first graduating class of West Caldwell High School. She continued her education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro after receiving scholarships from the James G. K. McClure Foundation and the Caldwell County Business and Professional Women's Club.
Pat currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she is active in community service. Her community involvement includes appointments to the Mecklenburg County Women's Commission Advisory Board, and the Domestic Violence Advisory Board by the Mecklenburg County Commissioners. During her appointments, Pat became active in numerous volunteer efforts offered by the Women's Commission, which included serving five years on the Women's Equality Day Planning Committee, two years as Finance Chair. Pat volunteered for Domestic Violence Advocacy training. She was a planning committee member and Luncheon Speaker for the 1997 Conference for Children Who Witness Domestic Violence, which launched her a standing ovation and a term on The Council For Children's Board of Directors.
Among Pat's service experience, she has a distinguished history with The American Business Women's Association. As a University Chapter Charter member, she served two terms as Vice-President and two additional terms as President. She was the Chapter's first Woman Of The Year, and first Merit Award recipient. She was honored with the Inner Circle Award her first year in ABWA, served as Charlotte's Area Chair and was distinguished with the Charlotte Area Woman of the Year.
Pat also has a continuous history supporting the United Way. In 1988, Pat was asked to serve as a Loaned Executive to the United Way in St. Petersburg, Florida. As a Loaned Executive Pat surpassed her fund raising goal, independently raising $450,000. The following year she served as a mentor for in coming Loaned Executives and was a member of the Allocations Board. In subsequent years, Pat has continued to volunteer her services by co-chairing United Way Campaigns with the partnership of her employers, and volunteered as a campaign guest-speaker Schulz holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and has over twenty years of business and corporate experience. She is also a graduate of Charlotte's Focus on Leadership program.
An advocate of valuing differences among people and Cultural Diversity initiatives, Pat is equipped as a Certified Diversity Instructor. She participated as a panelist for "Divided Sisters – Bridging the Gap Between Black and White Women".
Out of a spirit of gratitude and stewardship, in 2002 Pat created Personal Wellness Seminars - a "portable" program dedicated to health education of the mind, body and spirit. In 1996, Schulz established ENHEART Publishing. The name, ENHEART (meaning from the heart) distinctly defines the creative work of Ms. Schulz. Her writing talent and style is lauded by all for its honesty and ability to challenge readers to look beyond the surface. ENHEART Publishing was established with the sole intent to bring Metamorphosis - A Life Journey into existence. Today ENHEART Publishing exists to bring forth all heart felt inspirational literature. Ms. Schulz has learned the publishing business from the roots up and is delivering positive messages into the hearts and minds of readers throughout the United States. Metamorphosis is featured in the best selling novel If This World Were Mine, by renowned author E. Lynn Harris. Her work is also featured on The Sound Of Poetry, audio series, by The National Library of Poetry and in several anthologies. Ms. Schulz has a distinguished readership that includes poet Nikki Giovanni, authors E. Lynn Harris, Leslie Lewis, Stedman Graham and Jewel Diamond Taylor. In 2007, Pat published, Making Sweet Lemonade, a inspirational autobiography in which she imparts the intricate details of her life lessons with hope that readers will be drawn into their own discoveries and healing path.
In addition to authoring both "Metamorphosis: A Life Journey", and "Making Sweet Lemonade", ENHEART Publishing has produced books for local and regional authors since 1999.
