Susan Corsaro-Johnson
Susan Corsaro-Johnson is passionate about helping others discover and live God’s destiny for their lives and bring unity, life and hope to all denominations.
She was raised in a Christian home and although she always had a heart to seek God, she was unsatisfied by what her church had to offer. It wasn’t until she was in her late 20s that someone gave her Corrie Ten Boom’s book, “The Hiding Place.” It was the first time she’d ever heard of having a “personal relationship” with the living Lord which started her on her quest in earnest. It was several more years before she found Jesus, but when she did, she knew He was what she’d been looking for all her life.
She quickly became involved in a small local church, doing everything from cleaning the restrooms to vacuuming the sanctuary at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings. After a few years, the Lord moved her to a large church several miles away. Soon she was involved in the counseling, evangelism, and women’s ministries. She also participated in an adult Sunday school class on a regular basis. Within a couple of years, she was a frequent teacher in several of these ministries.
In 1993, one of the pastors of that church challenged her to go into missions. In fact, his words were “What’s stopping you?” She was unable to think of an answer, other than “money.” He said “That’s no obstacle for God. So...what’s stopping you?” He told her to think about it and come back in a week. A week passed. She sat down with him and had this answer: “Nothing’s stopping me except me.”
Within weeks, she was on her way to take a three-month course with a mission’s organization. She remained with that organization, both on staff and as a volunteer, for over three years. Eventually, she felt God calling her back into secular employment, where she spent the next several years and retired in September 2009.
Susan and her husband, Dale, remarried in 2004 after 27 years of divorce. In 2005, he went home to be with the Lord.
She is a member of Gateway Church in Southlake, TX and is a leader in the Women’s Prophetic Team as well as involved in Women’s Groups.
