Terri Smalls
Terri Smalls was chosen by God as the co-founder/organizer of Powerful Praying
Women, a women’s on-line ministry (with God being the founder). She considers this assignment to be not
by coincidence, but clearly by divine appointment. Married to a man who did not
serve God for 5 years of their marriage, she endured much hardship because of
it. Terri openly admits that she was a babe in Christ in the beginning of the
marriage, and therefore did not handle the hard times very well; making many
mistakes of her own. As the years progressed, however, she grew in the
Lord at her first church home in Brooklyn, NY where she was blessed with not
only a pastor, but also a father figure, in Rev. Jacob N. Underwood, Sr. After seven years, she felt led to
worship at the Christian Cultural Center in New York, where she remained for 4
years.
Terri is adamant in her testimony
that the Lord spoke to her during a period in which she was unemployed; telling
her clearly to go "prostrate before him" in regards to her husband's
salvation. Days later, her sister gave her the book, Power of a Praying Wife
by Stormie Omaritan. She fasted before reading the book then followed
everything Mrs. Omaritan suggested; firmly believing the Holy Spirit inspired Ms.
Omaritan's writing. Miraculously,
Terri's husband surrendered his life to Christ before she finished reading the
book. Today she is still married to that same man who now faithfully serves and
sincerely loves the Lord. They will celebrate their 14th anniversary in
August 2009. They share their family unit with a beautiful thirteen-year-old
daughter. In 2007, Terri and her
family relocated to Charlotte, NC where they now worship at New Birth Church.
Terri is a Christian writer and

entries from her personal journal and an interview with her husband); and a
teen book, Stand Alone -

Our Times newspaper in New York.
She currently writes for Optimal Living on-line magazine and is working
on her fourth book.
The Powerful Praying Women ministry, having celebrated its second anniversary
in June 2009, continues to grow in
number and effectiveness as it fulfills its mission to strengthen marriages by
ministering to married women and women who are "in waiting" for a husband. Terri’s “life verse” is Luke
12:48. For unto whomsoever much is given,
of him shall be much required.
Terri proudly proclaims, "I
am ready to do much because truly much has been given to me." Her advice to other married women is to "Never stop interceding in prayer for
your marriage, even when things seem great!" Her question to the single Christian
woman waiting for God to send her husband is "If he doesn't love God, how
much can he love you?"
